Obama - Run(a)way to win!

Ok, so maybe Barack Obama is not a RUNAWAY to win in 2012, but the Obama camp has just released the list of designers participating in their ‘Runway to Win’ campaign.

The ‘Runway to Win’ campaign for the Obama administration is a project created by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and features top American fashion designers aimed to generate revenue for Barack Obama’s 2012 Presidential campaign.  Designers such as Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, and Sean Combs have designed unique clothing and accessories available for sale on Barack Obama’s official website.

Here are a few designs I liked most:

Jason Wu

Marc Jacobs

Diane von Furstenberg

The online store officially launches on February 7th however, select items are available for pre-order now

LeBron James - UNKNWN

Seems the NBA Lockout is not slowing down LeBron James’ ambition.  He’s launching a clothing boutique - “UNKNWN.”  The above picture shows the outside of it’s first location in Aventura, FL.

Brian Wilson will teach you how to stunt!

San Francisco Giants’ closer Brian Wilson has been spotted rocking the super exclusive Marty McFly’s (Nike Air MAG) in the dugout.  Released in limited numbers in eBay auctions only, the first pair went to an anonymous bidder for $37,500.  Who cares about the tobacco spit and sunflower seeds getting these kicks dirty, B.Wilson bought two pair!  Stuntastic!

Green Shoes

Buy the shoe, wear the shoe, bury the shoe.

That’s right, BURY the shoe!  It’s exactly what the OAT Shoes company wants you to do.  Based in Amsterdam, OAT Shoes have taken the environmental approach to sneaker design.  The 100% biodegradable shoes made primarily of hemp and cotton, are meant to be buried once their life above ground is complete.  OAT has even embedded wild flower seeds in the tongue of the shoe, so once buried and watered, your once worn out shoe starts a new life as a bouquet of flowers in the earth.

With a range of industries taking up the responsibility to be environmentally conscious, in a time when the planet needs it most, it seems OAT Shoes have taken the lead in bringing consciousness to sneaker design.

Some of the first line:

Priced from $139 - $149 EUR (appx. $200 - $215 USD), they are now available at OAT Shoes.

Louis Vuitton - 3 Exceptional Journeys

Arguably, THE greatest sporting event in the world is set to take place this summer, The FIFA World Cup. It seems as though everyone, including myself, is getting football (soccer) fever and Louis Vuitton is no exception.

The above photo, captured by Annie Leibovitz, features three of the greatest footballers to ever play the game. Pelé of Brazil, Diego Maradona of Argentina, and Zinedine Zidane of France, are shown in a friendly and albeit competitive match of table football. You’ll notice some Louis Vuitton pieces in the background of this quaint Madrid café, including a Pégase cabin case Monogram with Zinedine Zidane’s initials.

As a part of Vuitton’s “Core Values 2010” ad campaign, this visual will appear in print around June.

Check out www.louisvuittonjourneys.com for more goodies and interaction with the three legends.
